About Community Boating: Community Boating Inc. is the oldest public sailing facility in the country and serves over 1,500 youth, 4,000 adults, and 400 people with disabilities each year. Working at CBI is one of the most unique and fun opportunities in Junior Sailing – it’s not a camp, and certainly not your typical yacht club. CBI serves children ages 10 and up from throughout the Greater Boston Area, especially children that might not otherwise have the opportunity to sail. Community Boating has fleets of Cape Cod Mercurys, 420s, Lasers, windsurfers, Ideal 18s, Sonars, kayaks, and stand up paddle boards.
About the Position: The Assistant Junior Program Director Primary duty is to ensure the smooth operation of the program day to day. This position includes supervising a staff of approximately 20 instructors.
Duties include:
• Monitor daily operations with a focus on safety of members and staff
• Ensure classes run on time and free sailing program runs smoothly
• Create a positive atmosphere of camaraderie at Community Boating
• Help Junior Program Director with weekly Basin Breezes Newsletter
The ideal candidates are creative, adaptable, able to multitask, have excellent time management skills, and enjoy a fast-paced environment. The Assistant Junior Program Director must have a can-do attitude and a willingness to jump in wherever necessary for the good of the program, and an enthusiasm for working with the junior members. They must have excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. We are looking for staff members who are team players!
The Assistant Junior Program Director position runs from June 2nd– August 22. This includes 10 weeks of programming plus two pre-season weeks of prep and training. There is potential for more hours outside the above listed hours.
