Job Description

Cedar Point Yacht Club (CPYC) is seeking multiple new and experienced Sailing Instructors for the 2021 summer program (Training week starts June 14th, Program starts June 21 to August 13). Work alongside 8 other sailing instructors under the guidance of the Head Instructor and full time Sailing Director. Founded in 1887, CPYC is located on the Long Island Sound in Westport, Connecticut.

Classes focus on basic boat handling, seamanship, and sportsmanship while building towards racing performance and tactical skills needed to compete at the regional level and beyond. Our Jr. Sailing Fleets include Opti, Feva, C420, Laser Radial, and Laser Standard as well as Jr. Big Boat Program.

We guarantee salary on bad weather days, provide overtime, extra pay for overnight and weekend regattas. You can earn extra money on weeknights and weekends by teaching private lessons to kids in our program or members (you'll have access to our club equipment to do so). Each instructor teaches a morning Opti class and an afternoon racing class.

Job Requirements
Ideally, we are seeking college aged instructors (18+) who have both prior racing and/or instructing experience.
• US Sailing Level 1 Certificate
• Current First Aid/CPR Certificate
• Safe Powerboat Handling Certificate
• CT Safe Boating Certificates
We'll help you arrange all the certificates before the beginning of summer and reimburse you if you do not have them already.

Coaching spots expected to fill up quickly. ACT NOW!!!
