Junior Sailing Performance Race Coach

DBMS is looking for Opti/420 race coaches that can manage and expand our sailors’ development pathway through curriculum and course planning. Key responsibilities will include: Managing practice 5 days a week over an 8 week season and maintaining effective communication between the Sailing Director, parents and sailors. Coaches will need to travel to regattas (6-8 a season) with sailors which includes trailering sailboats and support boats. Additionally, all coaches must perform routine equipment and fleet maintenance.

Race coaches must be US Sailing Level 1 Instructor Certified before starting in their role and have collegiate race experience (or similar). Candidates will be required to complete First Aid, CPR, AED, SafeSport and HeadsUp certifications. Candidates must be over 18 years of age and have Sailing Instructor experience.

DBMS will sponsor Candidates for the US Sailing Level 2 Certification prior to the start of the season.
