The Key West Community Sailing Center, located in the heart
of beautiful Key West Florida, is seeking a sailing instructor to teach youth
sailing during its Summer Sailing Camp program. The instructor will work alongside
the Head Instructor. The position is for a full time Monday-Friday salaried 10-week
program beginning May 31st, ending August 6th. The
position could lead to a permanent employment position for the right candidate.
Candidates should be familiar with at least several of the
following boats: Optimists, O’pen Skiffs, Lasers, Sunfish, 420s, Hobie Waves. Proficiency
in power boat handling is required. Candidates are expected to provide and promote
a fun and safe learning environment, focused on safety, boat handling skills,
and the basics of sailing. Indoor and outdoor activities, including knots,
games, snorkeling, and drills are common when undesirable weather causes
sailing to not be an option.
We offer a highly competitive salary along with additional
compensation opportunities including, but not limited to, private lessons
beginning in mid-May during the days prior to the start of summer camp, or
after summer camp hours.
