Coconut Grove Sailing Club, located in sunny Miami, Florida is looking for enthusiastic and experienced coaches to be part of our year- round coaching staff.
We are a legacy program founded in 1946 geared toward youth sailing at all levels. Our program is currently expanding and we are currently in need of a:
Advanced Optimist Development Coach
Laser Development Coach
Responsibilities:
1. Assisting the CGSC Youth Director and Head Coach in maintaining a program that meets the standards outlined by the Coconut Grove Sailing Club and US Sailing.
2. Providing safe, consistent, and quality instruction both on and off the water
3. Developing and implementing lessons plans for a variety of skill levels and changing weather conditions.
4. Maintaining equipment and facilities and reporting any issues to the Youth Director
5. Following and enforcing safety protocols at all times.
6. Attending regattas and events with the team as necessary.
7. Providing a consistent, high level of coaching.
8. Operating vessels consistent with USCG standards
9. Towing to and from regattas within state of Florida.
10. The ability to help or lead in fiberglass repair.
The ideal candidate will be of college age or above, be fluent in Spanish or at a conversational level. CGSC is a multi-cultural place, and although lessons and coaching is done in English, our membership is heavily Spanish or Portuguese speaking, reflective of the local population in Coconut Grove.
Immigration assistance may be available to the right candidate, however we are giving heavy preference to US based coaches that already hold visas, residency, or citizenship.
