Job Description
The Annapolis Yacht Club is seeking a Year-Round 420 Head Coach to lead our competitive racing programs.
The applicant should be a leader who is highly organized and self-motivated with excellent communication skills. A large part of this position will be communicating with yacht club members, sailors, and other staff respectfully and effectively.

The primary focus of this person’s coaching will be on the year-round 420 Program including spring and fall High School Sailing (fleet and team racing). In addition, the Head 420 Coach will help with program organization and maintenance. This position will include a lot of travel for coaching, as well as professional development and program endorsement throughout the year. The Head 420 Coach is expected to aid the Jr. Sailing Director and the Head Opti Coach in the general running of the Junior Sailing Program, its events, programs, race teams and maintenance of all fleets. Throughout the year, Annapolis Yacht Club hosts many local and national regattas, and we expect all of the Jr. Sailing Program crew to help run those events to the highest quality possible.
The Annapolis Yacht Club’s Junior Fleet’s mission is to provide a fun and educational program for youth interested in sailing and racing. We seek to impart a love of sailing as a lifelong sport while providing the fundamental skills necessary for participants to advance in the sport of sailing as far as their desire, skill, and hard work may take them.

AYC and Annapolis broadly hosts a vibrant sailing community, and coaching in this program offers opportunities to network and meet sailors and participate in a wide range of sailing and boating activities.
In recent years, AYC has expanded its facilities to include a new Sailing Center building that hosts the junior sailing program with indoor and covered outside space for the teams when not on the water. AYC also has the required fleet of support boats and travel trucks and trailers of a world class Junior Sailing program.
Please send your sailing resume and cover letter to juniorfleet@annapolisyc.org
This is an excellent opportunity to work with a Platinum Yacht Club.  Competitive pay and great benefits.
