Job Description

King Harbor Youth Foundation, one of the premier youth programs in Southern California, is actively seeking a full time experienced Optimist and/or CFJ instructor for beginners and racers.

Ideal candidates will be outgoing, well organized, and be able to connect with sailors and their parents. In addition to coaching, candidates need to be comfortable doing general maintenance on club owned boats and around the facilities. There are also opportunities for additional income through private lessons and adult sailing classes

Job Requirements

This is a full time position: work weeks are 35-40 hours a week and will include weekend regattas/events.

US Sailing Instructor Level 1 or higher

CPR, Basic First Aid, & SafeSport certification

Must be 18 or graduated from high school.

Ability to travel to regional and national regattas with Club/Parent support, if applicable

Valid Driver’s License

Powerboat/Rib experience

Basic maintenance skills

Responsible, reliable and self-starter

Positive role model, commitment to safety and sportsmanship
