WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE DURING THE SUMMER?
Thank you for your interest in becoming a part of the Tabor Summer family. We are looking for a motivated, energetic, and talented person to commit passionately as our sailing director for the summer camp. Located on Sippican Harbor/Buzzards Bay, the area is one of the best places to sail. 
 
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 
  • Supervise and coordinate sailing staff.
  • Manage the sailing dock.
  • Review and update safety protocols for the sailing program according to best practices by US Sailing and the American Camp Association (ACA).
  • Take attendance each period.
  • Keep campers safe, engaged, and active.
  • Prepare a day-to-day activity plan, according to the Program's guidelines, that must be submitted to the Summer Program Office before the end of orientation week.
  • Final activity plans to be turned in electronically to the Activities Director at end of summer.
  • Meet with sailing staff to coordinate, train them during orientation week, and provide routine feedback throughout the summer.
  • Meet with the Activities Director weekly to coordinate each week and receive feedback.
Job Requirements
* 2 or more years of sailing small boats (particularly Sunfish, Optis, and Quests)
* Team oriented
* Flexible
* Friendly
* Desire to work with children!
* Solid sailing experience - US Level 1 minimum
* Understand and explain rigging and knots
* Handle a boat with 2 to 4 inexperienced campers aboard in a busy harbor
* Create a fun and safe environment on the waterfront
* Prior teaching/coaching experience
* Prior experience managing other sailors
