PLYMOUTH YACHT CLUB
Assistant Instructor or Sailing Instructor
Seasonal position: 8 weeks, Salary $16.50-$21/hr
(Housing is Available!)

Plymouth Yacht Club is currently hiring Assistant Instructors and 2nd/3rd year Sailing Instructors for our 2023 season. Founded in 1890 and located across from the Mayflower, this historic club is looking for enthusiastic coaches to help oversee our Junior Sailing Program. This program instructs 140-180 sailors each summer in classes of all levels. We are seeking 1st, 2nd and 3rd year sailing instructors, even those still working on their instructor certification, to help oversee this robust sailing program.


We offer flexible hours, commuting incentives and excellent pay rates. Hourly rates range from $16.50/hr for Assistant Instructors, up to $21/hr for 3rd year instructors. Extra hours are available by teaching Adult Lessons to our members in our RS Quests. Join our PYC seasonal employee team!

 

Bonus 1: We complimentarily offer the CPR and First Aid certification course a week prior to our Program start.

Bonus 2: We will refund 1/2 the fee for your 2023 US Sailing Level 1 or Level 2 course, upon completion of your employment end of season…AND 1/2 if you return to work with us again in 2024.

Job Requirements
Qualifications

* At least 2 seasons of sailing instructing/coaching experience
* Strong and demonstrated dinghy racing experience, particularly in 420s
* Current or former collegiate sailing and/or high school racing is preferred
* US Sailing Level 1 Certification required
* Comfortable with handling small powerboats
* Current CPR/ First Aid Certification
