Sailing Coach/Instructor

Manatee River Pram Fleet is located on the north side of the Manatee River in Palmetto, FL. Manatee River Pram Fleet supports and promotes the sport of sailing for the youth of Manatee County in an atmosphere of fun and good fellowship. We strive to teach sportsmanship, responsibility, self-reliance, and respect for authority, equipment, and the marine environment. We are a non-profit organization and rely on donations to continue our programs.

 

Responsibilities

• Must be able to teach safety, boat handling and sailing theory to children.
• Must be able to develop and follow lesson plans that include dry land and on-the-water drills and inclement weather activities.
• Must have empathy for the students and be able to adapt to their individual needs.
• Accurate records of attendance, injuries and boat damage is required.
• Other duties include the care and maintenance of boats and the facility.
• The instructor must have knowledge and respect for the rules and regulations.
• Help maintaining and cleaning the docks, boats, and grounds before and after class.
