Job Description
The mission of the Larchmont Yacht Club is to instill and enhance an interest in yachting and the spirit of sportsmanship in members and their families. Encourage and provide programs for members and their families to promote and support yacht racing in the Corinthian spirit. Support a program of yacht racing events that meets the expectations of members and their families and enhances the reputation of the Club as a prestigious center of yachting and yacht racing. Encourage and provide compatible leisure and sporting activities, including intra and inter club competitions. Provide an active and enjoyable family-oriented social environment which members and their families will support, and in which they can participate, with pride and enthusiasm.

The Marine Facilities Department (MF) is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and management of all waterfront facilities. This includes a main dock that serves as a launching dock for our 4 24’-26’ launches as well as storage for member owned tenders and small sailboats, a work dock equipped with electrical shore power stanchions, pump out, and fuel, and a Junior Sailing Dock that has large spring, summer, and fall youth sailing programs operating off of it. In addition, MF manages a dry sail yard used for summer storage of member owned J/70s, Vipers, Etchells, V/15s, Lasers, Optis, kayaks, and paddleboards, as well as an active boatyard used for club boat maintenance and member boat and trailer storage. MF is also responsible for the management of 350+ moorings as well as all navigational markers in Larchmont Harbor.

The Marine Facilities Coordinator’s main responsibility is to facilitate the administrative aspect of the Marine Facilities Department under the supervision of the Marine Facilities Director/ Harbormaster. This includes but is not limited to responding to emails, answering phones, billing, maintaining service calendars, processing purchase orders as well as various other administrative functions. The Marine Facilities Department is made up of a small dynamic, dedicated staff. While this is primarily an office role, the ideal candidate should have the ability to be flexible and able to lend a hand in the boatyard or on the water as needed.

  • Scheduling meetings with relevant other departments

  • Maintaining office supplies inventory

  • Maintaining departmental records

  • Renewing registrations on club owned boats and trailers

  • Populating shared calendars with important dates and member service requests

Requirements and Relevant Skills

  • Excellent organizational skills 

  • Interpersonal skills

  • Great customer service

  • Ability to prioritize new tasks as they arise 

  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast paced environment

  • Knowledge of moorings, powerboats, and sailing is a plus

  • Service oriented

  • Tech savvy

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and G-Suite 

  • Competitive pay dependent on skills and experience

  • Position includes working nights, weekends & holidays as needed 

  • Full-time in season March 15th- November 5th

  • Part-time off season November 6 to March 14th

  • USCG Limited Master is a plus but not required
