Job Description
The mission of the Larchmont Yacht Club is to instill and enhance an interest in yachting and the spirit of sportsmanship in members and their families. Encourage and provide programs for members and their families to promote and support yacht racing in the Corinthian spirit. Support a program of yacht racing events that meets the expectations of members and their families and enhances the reputation of the Club as a prestigious center of yachting and yacht racing. Encourage and provide compatible leisure and sporting activities, including intra and inter club competitions. Provide an active and enjoyable family-oriented social environment which members and their families will support, and in which they can participate, with pride and enthusiasm.

The Marine Facilities Department is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and management of all waterfront facilities. This includes a main dock that serves as a launching dock for our 4 24’-26’ launches as well as storage for member owned tenders and small sailboats, a work dock equipped with 4 hoists, electrical shore power stanchions, pump out, and fuel, and a Junior Sailing Dock that has large spring, summer, and fall youth sailing programs operating off of it. In addition, Marine Facilities manages a dry sail yard used for summer storage of member owned J/70s, Vipers, Etchells, V/15s, Lasers, Optis, kayaks, and paddleboards, as well as an active boatyard used for club boat maintenance and member boat and trailer storage. Marine Facilities is also responsible for the management of 350+ moorings as well as all navigational markers in Larchmont Harbor.

The Marine Facilities Department is made up of a small dynamic, dedicated staff. This position will be a core member of that team operating under the direct supervision of the Director of Marine Facilities. The job will require working on the water and in the boatyard. Assisting and leading various projects from outboard and diesel engine repair to fiberglass and gelcoat work, to dock maintenance. Marine Facilities is also the lead on storm preparations, this requires a need for flexibility and ability to stay later or come in while the club is closed. Additionally, the team  assists and supports all waterfront programs including Jr Sailing, race committee, frostbiting, paddle boarding, and other events centered around watersports year round. In the off season the team preps for the coming year and completes capital improvements on the club waterfront and the fleet. This position is full time and includes overtime pay,  benefits, paid vacation and sick leave, professional development, and lunch. 


  • General boatyard maintenance

  • Filling out work orders and purchase orders

  • Outboard and diesel engine routine maintenance, winterization, troubleshooting, and repair

  • Fiberglass and gel coat repair

  • Dock repairs and maintenance

  • Storm prep

  • Hauling and launching club owned and member owned boats

  • Commissioning and decommissioning waterfront facilities

Requirements and Relevant Skills

  • Up to date CPR/ first aid certification

  • Has or has ability to attain NYS boating license 

  • Clean drivers license

  • Familiarity with marine systems, fiberglass, outboards, and diesels a plus

  • Shrink wrap experience a plus

  • Ability to move fifty pounds

  • Includes weekends and holidays during the April-October

  • USCG Launch License USCG Captains License or higher a plus
