Murrays Bay Sailing Club - New Zealand, Head Coach

To achieve this, MBSC is looking to employ a high performing Head coach for their International Optimist class. The Head coach, with the support from their coaching team, will be focused on developing all of our sailors through all of our Optimist fleets helping them reach their potential both domestically and onto international regattas. The Head coach will be expected to work with multiple stakeholders to help MBSC continue the tradition of excellence nationally and internationally.

In the 2021 / 2022 season MBSC had the privilege of working with over 60 young sailors across all of our Optimist fleets. We would welcome the opportunity for our new Head coach to bring fresh ideas and new thinking to how best we could structure our fleets and coaching sessions to both deliver the best possible environment for our sailors to succeed utilising the resources available.

MBSC is located on the North Shore of Auckland at Murrays Bay beach, and runs programs in centreboard sailing, from Learn to Sail in club optimists up to internationally recognised youth classes, as well as adult sailing.

MBSC has sailing in a wide range of classes such as Optimist, P Class, Starling, Laser, 29er, 420 and Waszp.

The position requires fulfilment by 1 September 2022, with the possibility part time coaching over the winter program.

Education

No formal tertiary education is required. If you are currently studying and have exams it will be important to incorporate a plan around these in relation to performance regattas to the satisfaction of the club.

Remuneration and Package

Market rate, commensurate with experience, accommodation also a possibility.
