Job Description
Offshore Sailing School is America's #1 Sailing School, having taught more than 160,000 adults and families how to safely and competently sail and handle large power yachts, since 1964. Still owned and run by founder Steve Colgate and his wife Doris, Offshore Sailing School is based in Ft. Myers, Florida, and operates instructional outposts at four resort locations on Florida's Gulf Coast, and two in the British Virgin Islands, on Tortola and Scrub Island.

Offshore Sailing School is hiring full-time/year-round, and part-time/seasonal, instructors to teach sailing lessons at resorts, and all levels of US Sailing and US Powerboating certification courses, from Basic Keelboat, through Performance Sailing, Basic and Bareboat Cruising, Navigation, and Passage Making. The company also offers Women's Weeks, Colgate Sailing Adventures hosted flotilla vacations, Performance Race Week, corporate and team-building sailing events.

The company continues to receive hundreds of leads each week from highly-educated, well-traveled, motivated, adventurous prospects, with a high conversion rate to sales. Full-time, salaried instructors receive healthcare benefits, and monetary rewards.

Job Requirements
Excellent communication skills, patience, sailing experience, ability to teach others with enthusiasm. Ideal candidates will already have US Sailing instructor certifications, but if not, we will assist you in obtaining these. A work permit is required in the British Virgin Islands, and we will assist qualified instructor candidates in obtaining that if necessary. Instructor has to be or become member in good-standing with US Sailing, adhere to safety procedures and protocols, and teach to the specific US Sailing standards, using US Sailing-issued textbooks. Professional appearance and behavior at all times. Submit to random drug-screening.
