The Treasure Island Sailing Center is seeking candidates for Program Director. The Program Director will support TISC by ensuring quality staffing, maximizing student enrollment, providing a top-notch youth development and education experience for our participants, and an inspiring and exciting place to work for program staff.
The Program Director(s) are responsible for:
- Scheduling classes, trainings, and events for all Youth, Adult and Adaptive Programs, including:
- Youth Summer Camp (8 weeks, plus training; includes youth group sailing and some adaptive sailing)
- Spring and Fall Instructional Lessons on the weekends
- Field Trip Program for SFUSD 4th graders
- Adult Instructional Dinghy Program
- Corporate/Teambuilding Program
- Management of Instructional Staff and Interns, including hiring and firing, team building, instructor training, etc
- Quality Control of existing programs, including instructor and class audits, and troubleshooting problems with participants and classes
- Development of new classes to support a pathway for youth, adults and people with disabilities to achieve regular and affordable access to the Bay, with a focus on increasing opportunities for adults and people with disabilities, with specific goals to:
- Increase adaptive sailing opportunities for youth and adults
- Increase regular sailing and instructional opportunities for adults
- Develop additional performance/racing programs for youth, including a foiling program
- Develop a rental program to facilitate more sailing opportunities for our community
