Job Description

Background

The Sheboygan Youth Sailing Center (SYSC) is located on Lake Michigan in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. SYSC is an established, growing 501(c)3 sailing center with a focus on providing affordable pathways for youth and adults in our community to learn to sail. We incorporate STEM and SEL-based education into our programming and provide a safe, inclusive environment for all of our classes. SYSC also offers opportunities for our sailors to compete locally, regionally, and nationally in a variety of different classes. Our goal is to meet students where they are, offering our staff and students alike to grow as humans and sailors and achieve their own personal and team goals. We have strong partnerships with local organizations that help us further our mission and a stand-alone facility on the Sheboygan Lakefront. In addition to fantastic lakefront access and facilities, we also have access to a state-of-the-art winter storage building with offices, classroom space, workshops, and more. This building, managed by our sister organization (SEAS), has all of the equipment for winter maintenance and classes and is where the majority of our fleet spends the winter. Candidates will have an office here in addition to the office at the lakefront.

We are a US Sailing Accredited Community Sailing Center.

Our fleet consists of a variety of coach boats, 11 C420s, 11 Prams, 7 Optimist Dinghies, 4 Lasers, 3 Lightnings, 2 J24s, 9 Sonars, 7 RS Fevas, 2 O'Pen Skiffs, paddleboards, windsurf boards, RC boats.
