Job Description

This part-time position provides administrative assistance to the PYSF Executive Director and coaching staff; uses discretion in relieving Director and staff of routine administrative tasks; assists with personnel record keeping, and employee and volunteer recruitment; may provide seasonal employees with direction.

General guidelines for duties are established by the PYSF Director. Day-to-day activities require the use of initiative and professional judgment. Prioritize assignments from different staff or when dealing with various public and private stakeholders.

PYSF’s mission is to provide a comprehensive sailing program for all youth in the Bay Area. From learn-to-sail to national travel teams, our classes stress safety and cultivate the values of character, community and competitiveness. Our program instills lifelong enjoyment and stewardship of our waterways, ocean space and world environment. Join our team and make a difference mentoring local youth!

Job Requirements
Primary Duties:
-Receive and screen visitors and phone calls
-Respond to public inquiries about PYSF organization
-Process incoming and outgoing mail
-Organize and maintain physical and digital records
-Order and maintain supplies
-Perform record-keeping for accounts payable and receivable
-Assist with registering participants in classes and regatta events

Qualifications
Experienced at:
-Office administration and procedures
-MS Office and/or Google Suite tools, ideally fluent in Excel and Word
-Record-keeping principles and practices
-Non-profit experience desirable

Skills and Abilities To:
-Maintain and protect personnel confidential information
-Work outdoors on occasion
-Organize work, set priorities, meet deadlines, and follow up on assignments
-Effective communication skills, ability to relate to varied constituencies
-Compose templates for internal and external written communication
-Organize and maintain accurate records and files
