Job Description
The RHYC Sailing School has a Summer 2023 position open for Head Coach for our Racing Team. Our Racing Team includes Optis, Laser Radials, and C420s. The team practices daily at the Rock Hall Yacht Club and travels to approximately 10 CBYRA - Chesapeake Bay Area - regattas during the summer.
The coach is responsible for daily team practice, instruction of other RHYCSS sailing classes when available, regatta preparation and travel, loading and unloading travel trailers, some boat maintenance, and coaching and mentoring. We offer a competitive hourly wage. Housing may be available and would be included. Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- US Sailing Instructor Level 1 certification (or equivalent)
- US Sailing Level 2 certification (desirable)
- Current First Aid / CPR certification
- MD State boating certification (or equivalent)
- Prior instructor / teaching experience ages 5 - Adult
- Regatta travel experience
- Recent experience with sailboat racing and on-the-water instruction
- Preferably college or similar small boat racing / coaching experience
- Genuine love of sailing and racing
