Job Description

The Florida Yacht Club is searching for a Full Time, YEAR ROUND, Salary position as the Recreational Sailing Program Manager. The Florida Yacht Club, located in sunny Jacksonville Florida, was established in 1876 and is the oldest Yacht Club in Florida. The established racing culture at the club has been around since it's founding and the Junior sailing program has been on an upswing in the last 7 years growing from one 3/4 time staff person and assistant coaches to a FULL year round racing powerhouse in NE Florida with a full time Waterfront Director and a Head Race Team Manager.    We are looking to expand our programming to include more recreational sailing, learn to sail, adult programming, STEM/REACH initiatives, and member programing in sailing, water education and recreational water activities. 


We are looking for an organized, self motived, creative, team player with a very positive attitude willing to work hard to grow our waterfront programs and take them to the next level. We are a hands on team working to build the next generation of Corinthian competitors, scholar athletes, lifelong sailors, environmental stewards, and general good human beings!
 
This position will focus primarily on the adult and youth recreational, learn to sail programing, and water front activities but will be involved in all aspects on the waterfront.. 
 
Duties will Include:
*Managing design/development and advertising of all recreational and learn to sail programming
*Manage adult sailing lessons, group lessons, rental certifications, speaker series, sailboat rentals, paddle rentals (Kayaks, paddleboards)  
*Manage waterfront program equipment and check out process/procedures. 
*Inventory, repair, and maintain all recreational programming equipment 
*Hiring and supervising waterfront staff, and learn to sail instructors 
*Running the beginner - learn to sail programming in our youth Summer Programs
*Run the year around youth "learn to sail" programming
*Create and run the youth recreational waterfront programming, and STEM/REACH programs.
*Assist the Waterfront Director and Race Team Manager with all aspects of waterfront programming - true team approach!   
       
 Annual salary is competitive and will be based on the knowledge and experience the candidates brings to the table. Additional commissions based on programming participation round out the pay structure. We are a hands on program and the sky is the limit! New initiatives and programs will be rewarded.

 
Job Requirements
*US Sailing Level 1 required, Basic Keelboat and powerboat instructor certifications encouraged
*Experience with Opti, laser, 420, basic keel boat "learn to sail" required.
*Boat maintenance and rigging experience - basic fiberglass, fitting installation experience, etc. helpful.
*Good organization, communication, and logistics management experience
*True Self Starting - Team Player with a positive attitude willing to jump in any aspect and make great things happen
