Job Description

Position Description: Technical Coordinator

This customer facing role is pivotal to the success of Ronstan and its brand, as it is often the first contact for customers and end-users. With training provided, this role will become the ‘go-to’ contact for our outside sales team and the product expert for customer inquiries.

This position works as the technical support person for all customers at Ronstan. The ideal candidate will have a positive, eager-to-learn attitude and the ability to prioritize tasks with a high attention to detail and organization. Sailing experience is preferred.

The Technical Coordinator will work closely with our architectural sales team. He or she will gain valuable experience supporting projects through the entire process from vetting initial inquiries to ensuring smooth and timely delivery. This position is a direct contributor to the success of the projects and the overall department.

This role has the potential for upward mobility within the company and the ability to influence Ronstan’s operations in Portsmouth, RI.

Architectural Responsibilities Include:

·         Fielding and vetting initial inquiries via phone and email.

·         Assist with preparation of proposals and project quotations.

·         Assist sales team with coordination and engagement of external consultants.

·         Working with purchasing and logistics teams to organize product needs.

·         Working closely with our design teams.

·         Provide progress and status updates to general contractors and project managers as required.

·         Manage customer orders, invoicing, payments and collections.

 

Marine and Industrial Responsibilities Include:

·         Fielding technical support questions via phone calls, emails, chat, and website requests.

·         Working closely with sales and product teams.

·         Lead the after-sales product support for customers and end users.

·         Distribute technical materials and provide technical training to other staff members.

·         Be available for the occasional on-site visit to a customer to provide a technical assessment when required. Also, to assist boatbuilders and/or repair facilities with technical support regarding product selection and installation.

·         Participate in Consumer and Trade Shows providing logistical support for the stand and technical support for the attendees.

·         Assist with order entry and customer management.

·            Salary Range $42,000-$50,000 commensurate with experience.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree of 2+ year(s) professional experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Sailing experience, with technical understanding of sailing products, is a strong advantage
- Ability to wok onsite at our office in Portsmouth, RI (occasional remote work and travel)
