Job Description


COACHING POSITION DETAILS:

Youngstown Community Boating, which operates at the Youngstown Yacht Club is hiring summer sailing coaches. This well established and growing program has about 60 sailors each week ranging from 7-18 years old. We have an experienced staff of 10-12 coaches. Fleets include Prams, Optimist Green, Optimist Race Team, Ideal 18 (Adventure Sail), and 420/Laser Race Team.


Youngstown is a small sailing town in Western New York, in the confluence of the Lower Niagara River and Lake Ontario. Racing fleets travel around the Northeastern USA including several events in both lake Erie and Lake Ontario. The goal of our program is to build on our recent growth and move the program forward with travel and skill development.


The daily work schedule is 8:15-4:30 with opportunities to work in the evenings teaching adult sailing if desired. The position includes competitive salary with housing provided in beautiful Youngstown, NY. The summer program runs for 7 weeks beginning the last week of June.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants must be self motivated, responsible, and engaging. Must be able to safely operate a powerboat. Must be able to organize and implement land and water activities that are dynamic, safe, and fun.


US Sailing Level 1 Certification or international equivalent required*

Valid CPR/ First Aid Certification Required*

Valid Driver’s license.
