Job Description

Glen Lake Yacht Club is looking for both a sailing director and a sailing instructor for summer 2020 and beyond.

We are looking for a flexible, friendly, fun-loving yet firm person to lead our summer sailing program as a director, as well as one instructor to teach youth saying classes.

Organize and Manage Sailing Staff (usually 3-4 instructors) with help from Commodore. The director should set the tone for each day after the morning staff meeting 9-9:15.

With many things to be done and 4-5 sailing staff working, the director has the ability to handle these jobs to keep the club running while the instructors maintain the basics of instruction. There are tasks that need to be done on a daily basis and that the director’s primary job is to keep things running.

Hours: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 9-5, Saturday 10-12, then Saturday or Sunday 12-5.

Instructors work some of these hours and are asked to lead youth programs on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7-9 pm.

Glen Lake Yacht Club opens on Memorial Day weekend. The sailing program typically begins the 2nd week of June and concludes the 2nd week of August. Our program is open to children from 6-16 years of age.

Director $23/hr. plus bonus. Instructor $16/hr plus bonus.
