Job Description
The Santa Cruz Yacht Club Sailing Director is responsible for high quality sailing Instruction and the overall operations of the Santa Cruz Yacht Club's (SCYC) Junior Sailing Program year-round. The Sailing Director will oversee the hiring and supervision of coaches, maintain asset management of Club boats and equipment, effectively and professionally communicate with sailors, parents, coaches, club members, and SCYC Board members. In addition, the Sailing Director must demonstrate positive interpersonal skills and articulate program updates to families and SCYC Board Members. The Sailing Director will develop appropriate lesson plans to the varied proficiency levels of the junior sailors and will create classes, clinics, and sail camps in collaboration with the SCYC Junior Board of Directors. The Sailing Director will develop and implement safety protocols; demonstrate and foster good sportsmanship and promote seamanship. The compensation package will include health insurance. Salary($55,000 - $75,000+) will be based on qualifications and experience.
