Sailing Director, Town of Scituate

$40.00/hr. The Scituate Recreation Department is seeking a Sailing Program Director for our Community Sailing Program. The Recreation Department teaches Mercury & 420 Sailing for beginner/intermediate junior sailors as well as an adult sailing program. Applicant must be a skilled sailor with prior sailing instructor experience and knowledge of mercury and 420 boats. Must be motivated, organized, and communicative while demonstrating the ability to work with and lead a staff of 10 counselors. Necessities include Level 1 certification or working to obtain, understanding of maritime/harbor safety, boat handling and understanding of minor repairs and rigging boats. Essential to know how to operate a motor boat. This position is non-union and non-benefit eligible. It is a seasonal full-time job starting June and ending mid-August. A typical week runs Monday thru Thursday (Fridays are used for a rain date) 8:00 am – 4:00 pm.
