The Avalon Yacht Club in Avalon, NJ is seeking Sailing Instructors for the 2023 Summer Season. This includes instructors for Optimist, Laser and 420. Housing is not provided. Responsibilities include the following:
- Leading a class of up to 10 sailors
- Works closely with the Director, Assistant Director and Racing Coach
- Responsible for the implementation of curriculum and lesson plans for the assigned class
- Identifies maintenance needs on club owned equipment
- Team Travel to weekly regional regattas is an expectation.
- Interaction with parents
Avalon Yacht Club is one of the largest and most active yacht clubs in South Jersey with first class facilities. The sailing program has more 100 children with an arts and crafts program for the youngest, through advanced racing and travel team for the most experienced. The ages range from 6 to 16. The program runs 4 days a week for 8 weeks during the summer.
