Job Description
Boston Sailing Center Overview:

Founded in 1977, Boston Sailing Center has become the most popular sailing school/sailing club in New England.
From BSC, we enjoy unrestricted sailing along Boston's historic waterfront and beyond, including day sails among the beautiful Boston Harbor islands, overnight trips to Marblehead and longer sails to destinations like Provincetown, Martha's Vineyard and Newport.
Our fleet of over 75 boats includes Solings which are used for racing and our Learn to Sail classes, J/24s and J/27s which are used for our Advanced classes, and many modern cruising boats up to 40 feet.
Boston Sailing Center is committed to providing the best sailing instruction available in New England. Each year hundreds of students sail with us for the first time, and many more advance their sailing careers by taking our classes covering everything from racing to navigation.
The Center is open early May through October. Many of our lessons take place on weekends and evenings. During the winter months we offer frostbite racing, navigation courses, seminars, social activities, and vacation charters in exotic locations.

Instructor Duties and Responsibilities:
Help BSC maintain a safe, fun, and respectful environment for all staff, students and members.
Communicate in a timely and professional manner with supervisors.
Deliver top-notch instruction in accordance with the Boston Sailing Center curriculum, using methods and techniques appropriate for each student.
Ensure the safety of all participants in your lesson at all times (this includes yourself!).
Begin and end lessons at the scheduled time.
Skipper boats during charters.
Attend Instructor Training sessions to teach and learn from your fellow instructors.
Contribute to Instructor Meetings to share your ideas and feedback so we can constantly improve our teaching program.
Contribute to the general upkeep and maintenance of the fleet as required.
Take care of our natural and human-made environments by cleaning up, disposing of trash appropriately, and leaving BSC and our boats cleaner than you found them.
Contribute to a welcoming community by building rapport with students, members, and fellow employees. You are the face of BSC to our customers!
Keep in mind that many of our lessons take place during evenings and weekends and such availability is required.

Full and Part-time positions are available. If you think you'd be a good fit, please reply with your resume and a brief introduction.
