The Sailing School Instructor is a role model for young sailors. Boats involved in the program include club-owned Optis, Open Skiffs, and 420s. Children in the sailing school range in age from completion of kindergarten (should this be increased to 4th grade except by special permission) through age 17 (12th grade).
The Sailing School Instructor is paid a weekly via a payroll system that withholds taxes. The weekly schedule generally is Monday -Thursday, 9 AM to 5 PM. Assistance with Saturday morning racing is desired, either by participation and / or assistance and committee work. Work also includes one youth regatta at the end of the season. For summer 2026, the job begins June 1 and is completed August 15.
The Sailing School Instructor must be 18 years of age or older with a US Sailing Level 1 certification or higher.
