Job Description

Treasure Island Sailing Center is looking for qualified Sailing Instructors this Fall. We have a variety of programs and positions we are looking to staff!

For the right candidate, we can put together a schedule that combines any of the following positions:
(Maximum of 40 hours per week of work)

Set Sail, Learn Program (Sailors (3 positions) and STEM Instructor (1-2 positions))

- Fun and educational boat rides on RS Ventures for 4th & 5th graders from SF public schools
- M, T, TH, F
- 10pm - 2pm

Sunday Youth Program (Dinghy (4 positions))

- Coaching youth sailing ages 7- 18
- 9am - 5pm on Sundays

SF Social Sailing (Dinghy & Keelboat (8 positions))

- Coaching and casual racing with adults in the VOLO social sports organization
- Saturdays, AM slot 10am - 1pm and/or PM slot 2pm - 5pm

Private Lessons (Dinghy & Keelboat (multiple positions available))

- As needed
- 2pm - 5pm on Weekdays
- 10am - 1pm and/or 2pm - 5pm on Sundays

Weekend Supervision and Safety Officer

- Supervising classes and rental program
- Sat, Sun, 10am-4pm

Orientation/Group Sail (Keelboat)

- Group sails with kids and/or adults, ranging from recreational, to mildly instructional, to teambuilding with corporate clients
- M, T, TH, F, Sun (as needed)
- 2pm - 5pm on Weekdays
- 10am - 1pm and/or 2pm - 5pm on Sundays

About TISC:

At Treasure Island Sailing Center our mission is to create opportunities for people to learn and grow through sailing by providing facilities, sailing instruction, and access to the water for people of all socio-economic backgrounds, abilities and skill levels. As a non-profit community sailing organization, we provide opportunities for personal growth and environmental stewardship through the sport of sailing. The majority of our participants come from communities who have been traditionally underrepresented in the sport of sailing.

Job Requirements
Applicants must:
- work well with children ages 7-17
- demonstrate proficiency at skippering a dinghy and/or keel boat (depending on the program)
- demonstrate proficiency at safe powerboat operation and sailboat rescue technique
