Job Description

Manchester Sailing Association is seeking dedicated sailing instructors to join our 8-week program next summer! The program will run from June 23 to August 15, 2025, and instructors will work full-time for a week before and after the 8-week season, 10 weeks total.

Serving local youth and adult sailors through a wide range of course offerings, our fleet comprises ten coach boats, Ideal-18 keelboats, Optimists, C420s, and Lasers. Following several recent refurbishments and additions, it is in excellent condition. We offer learn-to-sail and beginner classes and robust Optimist and C420 Race Teams, which travel to many regattas across New England each year.

As we continue to grow, we seek an exceptional Senior Instructor to join our team and lead the way in shaping the next generation of sailors. This role is perfect for a motivated, experienced sailing professional looking to make a meaningful impact while advancing their career.

Our Senior Instructors take on various roles, from teaching beginner classes and adventure sailing to coaching our race teams.

Why MSA? Join a tight-knit, supportive team of instructors and staff in a welcoming and vibrant sailing community. Enjoy working in one of New England’s most stunning coastal towns, with access to incredible sailing conditions. Opportunity to have a real impact and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of sailing for students of all ages and abilities. By joining MSA, you won’t just teach sailing; you’ll lead the way for an entire generation of sailors!

Pay is competitive and commensurate with experience. Instructors also have many opportunities to supplement their base pay by teaching private lessons and adult classes at MSA. Housing will be arranged for the right candidate, if necessary. Local candidates may be able to teach spring and fall classes outside of MSA’s summer season.

If you’re passionate about sailing, thrive in leadership roles, and value teaching in a supportive and innovative environment, we want to hear from you! Candidates are encouraged to contact Tommy McCormick, Sailing Director, with a resume and cover letter. We look forward to hearing from you!
