Description of Role – Summary
- Sales development across the Southeastern USA (Virginia south to Florida and west to Texas) plus the Caribbean and some customers in South America.
- To increase the sales in the Southeast Territory through existing customers and acquiring new customers.
- To educate all current and potential customers and relevant end-users about our product offering.
- The role will require you to:
- Visit customers and potential customers on a regular basis to grow sales.
- Analyze current customers’ existing offering and propose expansion of product offering.
- Prospect for new customers through cold calls, referrals, and industry search initiatives.
- You will be responsible for conducting regular product training sessions for customer service staff, customers and in some cases, directly to consumers.
- You will assist with advice about product specification, product suitability and general installation advice.
- Work closely with the customer service team and our internal sales to ensure that all enquiries are serviced in a prompt and professional manner.
Specific responsibilities of this role
- Maximize sales and contribution with the existing customer base.
- Develop and nurture potential new customers to grow sales.
- Maintain and develop a contact database of existing customers and prospects.
- Look for opportunities to help build all company brands across the territory.
- Develop an annual territory sales budget for marine segment and provide updated forecasts on request.
- Submit a detailed business plan each financial year that establishes your primary focus areas.
- Continue to develop your knowledge and understanding of our products and those of our primary competitors.
- Identify and participate in relevant marine trade shows and other promotional events.
- Identify and report on opportunities to help promote our products to marine OEM’s.
- Travel to visit customers is required. Frequency and focus to be agreed with the marine commercial manager.
- Active participation in regular sales team conference calls.
- Provide a monthly report on activities, priorities and outlook by the fourth working day of each month.
