Job Description

Coach with the national champion Christchurch School Sailing team! Christchurch Sailing continues to grow in both size and success. We are looking for an assistant coach to work with the program during the fall and spring seasons and be a full-time faculty member. Successful candidates will have a bachelor's degree in the relevant field (see details below) and significant experience in competitive sailing. Responsibilities will include coaching two seasons of sailing, teaching four classes, and a share in rotating dormitory supervision. Housing is provided.

Science:

Christchurch School seeks a teacher for 11th and 12th grade integrated science. This is a great opportunity for a progressive science educator to join a school that uses a place-based curriculum and an integrated science approach that combines biology, chemistry, physics, and earth science with local applications at each grade level to build relevance for students.
Qualified candidates should hold a bachelor of science degree in Environmental Science or any field of science if it is combined with an interested in teaching integrated science.. Formal education training and teaching experience are desirable but not required. Candidates should also be realistic and excited about the challenges and rewards of teaching and living in a boarding school, as well as working with students who have a wide variety of learning styles and ability levels.
Spanish:
Christchurch School seeks candidates for the position of Spanish teacher. Our Spanish department features an innovative curriculum in which students take mastery-based classes at the foundational level, and then choose from a menu of elective options in their pursuit of higher level Spanish. Opportunities to lead immersion experiences in Guatemala and other global destinations are available. Qualified candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in Spanish or a related field, and ideally have experience abroad. Candidates should also be realistic and excited about the challenges and rewards of teaching and living in a boarding school, as well as working with students who have a wide variety of learning styles and ability levels.
Our Culture:
Christchurch School is an inclusive and caring community that prides itself on our educational philosophy of Relationships, Engagement, and Agency.

We believe in building relationships with students, between disciplines, and with our wider community, relationships which help students become engaged and ultimately lead them to a sense of agency in their lives.

It is this approach, centered around developing the student competencies to do these things, that is our focus, rather than test scores or specific content. We want to help our students recognize their skills and grow into self-confident people who can help make the world a better place.
Please submit an electronic resume and a letter of interest directly to Neal K. Keesee, Ph.D., Associate Head of School, at academicjobs@christchurchschool.org.
