Position: Dockmaster
Job Tasks
Docks
Oversee day to day waterfront operations
Responsible for upkeep and maintenance of club dock facilities/equipment and dry storage area, providing service to members and guests who use those facilities
Responsible for tracking all applicable member and guest dock and dry storage charges and communicating those to accounting
Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of two hoists and mules
Responsible for the upkeep and appearance of the race committee mark shed, Dockmaster’s office, tool shed, and two storage containers
Handle inquiries from membership, guests, and other yacht clubs in a timely fashion
Communicate with Sailing and Race Director to ensure coordination of dockage, cruise ins and race activities
Meets and greets all visiting vessels
Manages reservations for dock space
Maintain accurate service records for all equipment
Responsible for safe use of all Club equipment (hoists, boats, etc.); adhere to specific guidelines
Race Committee (RC)
Plan and execute dock plan for events
Handle berth inquiries from participants during events in a timely fashion
Responsible for the inventory, upkeep, and maintenance of the RC equipment
Setup/takedown of RC Fleet before and after events
Assist in assembling Race Committee boat kits, marks and ground tackle during events
Event specific setup and management to be coordinated with Race Director
Ensure RC boats are cleaned and fueled for all time
Work with the House Committee members to achieve long-term goals
Jr. Program
Serve as land-based rescue/emergency contact
Assist with launching/retrieving/maintaining Jr Program powerboats
Reports to: Race Director
Supervises: Assistant Dockmaster, Dock Hands
