Job Description

Founded in 1927, St. Francis Yacht Club, within view of the Golden Gate Bridge, is a year-round host of over 125 days of racing on San Francisco Bay. The club is renowned for its expertise in facilitating world and national championships. With well over 40 regattas on its calendar annually, including being the first club to host kite course racing and the Rolex Big Boat Series, the Club is widely regarded as having one of the top racing programs in the country.

Job Summary

The Waterfront Director is the ambassador of the St Francis YC docks; they are the primary person with whom a member or visiting yachtsman will interact when arriving by vessel. The Waterfront Director oversees the general maintenance of the docks and all floating assets. This individual possesses strong interpersonal skills, thrives in a team environment, and has a strong work ethic.

Primary duties/Responsibilities

Maintain a safe and clean dock, dry storage and equipment storage area

Manages all reservations and accounting records for dock space and dry storage

Provide routine cleaning, engine service, fueling, and accurate service records for all powerboats and equipment including but not limited to:

6 - 22’ RIBs

28’ Protector

38’ Grand Banks

Mules

Boat Hoists

Maintain a fleet of 10 race – ready (dry-stored) J/22 boats

Provide routine cleaning and maintenance

Launch and haul the fleet as necessary for regattas and practices

Serve as the on-the-water Bosun during all major regattas

Gel coat and minor fiberglass repair

Assist Race Director in creating and following a budget

Race specific setup and management to be coordinated with  Race Director
