The Northport Point Club runs a summer Recreation Program for children ages 5 to 14 with CIT’s up to 17. The core of the program is a morning camp – “Beach Class” (M-F) in which children learn tennis, golf, sailing and swimming, and participate in group events and field trips. Afternoons, evenings and weekends are used for private lessons, clinics, competitions and special events as well as races and clinics for adults.
We need two mature, energetic and responsible individuals to run the sailing program. You will have a lot of autonomy to plan daily lessons while getting guidance from the Yacht Club Commodore. You will report to the Recreation Program Director.
The Sailing Masters work together to teach sailing to the 7-14 year olds, manage the sailing Counselors-in-Training (CITs), work with the other counselors for other program events, give clinics and private lessons to children and adults, run regattas and races for children and adults and care for the Yacht Club power boats and sailboats. We sail Optis, Sunfishes, Hobie Getaways, RS Visions & Typhoons.
Housing is provided. Compensation is competitive (Salary, Bonus, Lessons).
