Job Description
The responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the AYC Staff and Youth Sailing Director in maintaining a camp that meets the standards outlined by AYC
- Providing safe, consistent, and quality instruction
- Leading, managing, and supporting all other instructors and delegating responsibilities
- Leading and/or assisting all on-the-water and land activities
- Ensuring campers are always accounted for at the waterfront and club facilities
- Maintaining equipment and facilities
- Reporting any issues to the Youth Sailing Director
Expectations:
- Passionate about sailing, and specifically, teaching sailing
- Strong staff management
- Provide a safe learning environment both on and off the water
- Approachable and friendly with ability to relate to children, teenagers, and parents
- General knowledge of all types of boats and sailing: dinghy and big boat, racing and cruising

Job Requirements
Requirements:
- US Sailing Level I, II, or III Certification
- Must be completed by June 2, 2022
- Including valid CPR/First Aid, SafeSport, and NASBLA Certification
- Experience in sailing instruction for ages 8-16
- High proficiency operating powerboats around dinghies and people in the water
- Sailing experience including rigging, tuning, maintenance, and basic repair
- Ability to perform necessary functions under stressful, emergent, or crisis situations
- Pass a background check
