The San Diego Yacht Club is seeking instructors and coaches for seasonal employment during the summer. SDYC proudly maintains one of the largest Junior Sailing Programs on the West Coast, training with hundreds of youth sailors throughout the year and a fleet of over 80 club owned boats. Our program is divided into two class sessions per day. In the AM we hold our beginning level courses in CFJs and Naples Sabots with sailors ages 6 and up. Our afternoon program offerings range from learn-to-race classes to advanced racing in Lasers, C420s, CFJs, J22’s and 29ers.
Our program will begin with a staff training session on June 13th and end August 12th, with eight weeks of coaching instruction for a total of 9 weeks paid time. We are willing to be flexible with start dates, but expect coaches to be available for at least 6 weeks of the summer. Classes meet Monday- Friday, 8:30am to Noon and 1pm to 4:30pm, with some additional travel days to regional events. Lunches are provided each day. Potential for provided housing.
San Diego has a vibrant sailing community with plenty of opportunities for coaches to continue racing while they are coaching during the summer, from the US Youth Champs and US Open in June, to local yacht club racing series.
