Job Description

The Wickford Sailing Association (WSA) is seeking sailing instructors for the 2020 summer sailing season. WSA runs the junior sailing program at the Wickford Yacht Club and serves to educate junior sailors from age 8-18 in all aspects of sportsmanship and seamanship which we cultivate through a variety of classes from learn-to-sail to competitive racing. Adult sailing lessons are also offered in the evening. Our fleet consists of Optimists, Prams, 420s, and two RS Quests.

We are seeking qualified individuals with strong leadership and teaching skills that can bring fun and creativity to our summer sailing program. The ideal candidate would be a safety conscious instructor who is looking to have a great time out on the waters of Wickford Harbor and Narragansett Bay this summer while passing on a love of sailing. Experience in the Optimist and 420 classes and college sailing experience is preferred

If an applicant has the requisite sailing and teaching experience but does not have a US Sailing Level 1 certificate, WSA will work with a prospective candidate, if selected for employment, to gain the required credentials. New hires will also have an opportunity to get reimbursed for the required training.
