Job Description

The Winter Harbor Yacht club is currently looking for experienced sailors to be sailing instructors for the 2025 summer in our Junior Sailing Program. The season begins on June 23th and lasts for 8 or 9 weeks till mid-August. The juniors are aged 8-16 and sail on Optis, 420s and Bullseyes. We are a summer yacht club (see winterharboryachtclub.com) on a beautiful location across Frenchman’s Bay from Acadia National Park and adjacent to the Schoodic Peninsula portion of Acadia. Housing and lunches will be supplied by the club. The Junior Program is run Monday thru Friday from 9:00 until 3:00 with Bullseye races on Wednesday. On Saturday the club has races on our Knockabout fleet and instructors are welcome to crew on those events. There is a good starting salary and returning for future seasons is encouraged. Job Requirements

Experience in a Junior Sailing Programas either an instructor or participant.

Experience ina wide variety of boats in particular dinghies andoher small boats

Ability to teach children from a wide variety of ages with a variety of skill levels from beignner to racer.

US Small Boat Level One Instructor or higher (recommended)

CPR/First Aid certification (desired)

Safesport certification (online)

Maine Boating license (online)
