Job Description

The St. Francis Yacht club is looking for a Head Summer Sailing Instructor and several talented and hardworking sailing instructors/counselors for our summer season, June 18- August 17, 2018. We have a fleet of RS Tera, Lasers, Bytes, FJs, and C420s.

We offer Monday-Friday sailing camps for beginner and intermediate sailors. Four of our camps are sleep away camps at our beautiful Tinsley Island Station located 1 hr. and 45min. northeast of our San Francisco Club House. The daily temperatures are in the 90s, humidity is low, the water is warm and brackish, and winds average 10-15kts. Instructors are housed in a bunk house during the week and all meals are prepared for the sailors and instructors by a professional camp chef. Instructors are responsible for instructing sailing and managing the campers while they are on the island. The island has windsurfers, paddleboards, kayaks, a pool and many fields for games and exploration.

The other four weeks of our summer camps are sailed out of our home Club on the San Francisco City Front. These camps are for beginner and intermediate sailors and run from 9am-4pm Monday-Friday. Daily temperatures are in the 60s with winds averaging 15-25kts. Camp size is limited to approximately 20 sailors each week, who are then separated into smaller groups based on age and ability.
