Job Description
The Bay Shore Yacht Club Summer Sailing Program is seeking Instructors who are both passionate about sailing and teaching students the skills necessary to be safe, competent sailors. Our program is designed for Beginners through Advanced aged 7 - 17. We focus on sharing our love for sailing while exploring the Great South Bay with friends as well as honing skills and good sportsmanship on the racecourse. Our fleet of over 30 boats includes Optis, Sunfish, Mercuries, 420s and a Flying Scott. Our instructors will share in all responsibilities of maintaining a high level of safety awareness and professionalism within our program. They will also be invited to participate in the social aspect of our Junior Yacht Club including social gatherings with students, parents, other staff, volunteers, and all those who support our instruction efforts and care for our fleet and facilities.
Our program involves over 100 students, 6-7 staff members, 2-3 apprentice instructors and assorted volunteers. 
Competitive salaries offered commensurate with experience and certifications. 
Housing arrangements available for long distance/international instructors. 
Job Requirements
Minimum 18 years old.
Minimum current US SAILING CERTIFICATION, Level One, or International Equivalent
Current First Aid/CPR Certification
Follow established curriculum and lesson plans with ability to add in own style and flair
Ability to work with a wide range of student ages, aptitudes, abilities, maturity and music preferences
Experience in racing, race committee and regatta operation preferred
