Job Description

The Four Seasons/Costa Palmas resort in La Ribera, Baja Mexico is seeking a Director, Junior Sailing Program, to launch the inaugural season of a resort sailing program from May-August 2024. https://costapalmas.com/

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to launch and lead a juniors sailing program at one of East Cape Baja’s most exclusive resorts.

This is a 4-month full-time summer position that requires management-level Director duties and hands-on daily Sailing Instructor skills. At the end of the summer season, based on the sailing program’s success, there is opportunity for longer-term employment during the 2024-25 Winter/Holiday season.

The program is looking for mature applicants with a strong sailing background, excellent organizational skills, enthusiastic, personable with an entrepreneurial spirit to assist the Four Seasons/Costa Palmas Yacht Club manager develop and implement a resort-style sailing program for the children of Four Seasons/Costa Palmas resort guests.

Apartment housing in newly built residences near the resort is included.

Job Requirements
Required Qualifications: - US Sailing Small Boat Level 1 Instructor certification - First Aid/CPR/AED certification - Safe Boating Certificate - Safesport Certification - Spanish speaking skills a strong plus RESPONSIBILITIES: - Pre-season work with Four Seasons/Costa Palmas Yacht Club manager and Senior Sailing Director to develop sailing program and prep club boats (6 - RS TERA SPORT Sailing Dinghies) - Work with Senior Sailing Director to create Junior Yacht training curriculum - Coordinate, organize and execute daily group and private lessons for students - Conduct on-the-water and classroom training of students - Operate a small outboard motor skiff as a training platform for on-the-water instruction - Ensure adherence to appropriate sailing safety protocols and equipment usage - Secure all dinghies and instructor skiff at the conclusion of each day - Coordinate and communicate daily with Four Seasons/Costa Palmas Yacht Club manager and Senior Sailing Director - Maintain operational readiness of dinghy fleet and instructor skiff - Set a standard of professionalism and conduct to reflect the environment for 5-star resort staff
