Job Description

Wickford Sailing Association, located on the West Passage of Narragansett Bay in North Kingstown, Rhode Island, is seeking applications for summer instructors and coaches for our Beginner and Intermediate sailors as well as our Club 420 and Opti Race Teams.
The program is overseen by Skip Whyte, a 5 time medal winning Olympic coach, who will also be deeply involved with mentoring the Head Instructor, Coaching staff, and Instructors. Our program uses Prams, Optimists, RS Quests and Club 420s. STEM activities and integrated in all classes.
The sailing program runs Monday – Friday from June 21 – August 27; staff are expected to be part of the program for its entirety. This schedule includes an initial week of set up, eight weeks of instruction, and a final week of breakdown.
Enthusiastic applicants can expect a great work environment, excellent coach boats and sailing conditions. WSA educates sailors from age 6-18 in all aspects of sailing and seamanship with an emphasis on teamwork and sportsmanship.
Compensation commensurate with experience. Perks include: reimbursed training and incentives for returning for subsequent years.

Job Requirements
• Level One US Sailing Certification (Level 2 preferred) or equivalent
• Current 1st Aid and CPR
• RI Boaters license or equivalent
• Prior instructional experience
• Prior experience in driving boat trailers is a plus
